Sif Holst

I am a woman born with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. For more than 20 years I have been a wheelchair user and a disability rights advocate. I have experienced discrimination and many obstacles, both as a woman and as a person with a disability, but I also had opportunities to raise myself up and to work for change on an individual, local, national and international level.

I currently serve on a large number of boards and committees and I am employed as the vice-chair of Disabled People’s Organisations Denmark (DPOD), the Danish disability umbrella, which has 35 member organisations ranging from Asthma-Allergy Denmark, the Diabetes Association and SIND – the association for mental health to organisations for people who are blind, deaf or who have a physical disability.
