Anna Derksen

Anna is a historian interested in Nordic and Scandinavian history in the twentieth century, disability, body politics and welfare state narratives. After completing her studies in cultural anthropology, Scandinavian studies and modern history in Jena and Gothenburg, she worked as a cultural administrator, co-organised various cultural festivals and is currently writing a dissertation on Nordic disability rights activism in transnational perspective at Leiden University in the Netherlands. In 2021 she moved to the Baltic Sea to join the international research training group “Baltic Peripeties. Narratives of Reformations, Revolutions and Catastrophes” at the University of Greifswald as assistant lecturer and researcher.
